Callouts and Web Services
A callout is Apex calling another system. A web service is Apex that other systems call. Both run over HTTP, with REST or SOAP.
Authorize the Endpoint
Salesforce blocks calls to unknown endpoints. Add a Named Credential (preferred) or a remote site setting so your org trusts the URL.
